PURTALA- THE ISLAND NEAR BHOPAL



Purtala is a beautiful untouched tourist spot located about 213 km (4- 5 hour journey) from Bhopal on Bhopal- Nagpur road. Purtala is a nice picnic spot rich in Singhori wildlife and bio diversity. There is a beautiful island near Purtala which takes 30 minutes by motorboat ride. Long walk can also be enjoyed in Purtala. To reach Purtala, one has to follow the route of Badi Bareli via Bhimbetaka, Ratapani, Abhyarandya and Shahganj. One can take a night stay at Purtala; forest hut and caretaker is available at Purtala.

‘BIJNA’ – THE HAND FAN’S EXHIBITION



The exhibition hand fan's is organized in Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum Bhopal from various states of India like Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Gujarat, Assam, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Karnataka, Haryana, Bihar, Tripura and West Bengal exhibited. Apart from India hand fans of other countries as well like France, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and South Korea. Ever since ancient times hand fan's has a incredibly significant role in our life. It is not only part of our daily life but also has a unique place in our culture and traditions. Design, decoration and hard work behind these hand fans make this a unique form of art. 
 


Bijna exhibition started from 03 April 2014 to 30 April 2014. Except Mondays and government holidays the exhibition will open from 12pm to 8pm.
